Luxe Spotlight: Latino Designer Angel Sanchez by Tanya Sotillo
New York Fashion Week kicked off on February 11th. The annual showcase of fashion collections attracted a number of renowned designers this year ranging from Jeremy Scott to Rebecca Minkoff. Among the mass of talented designers showing off their collections this week is Angel Sanchez.
Sanchez, who was born and raised in Venezuela, was always surrounded by fashion as his mother was always constructing garments. After graduating from college as an architect, Sanchez decided to switch gears and pursue his long-lasting passion for fashion. After experiencing almost immediate success in his home country, Sanchez decided to dream even bigger and moved to New York City in 1995 to grow his fashion designs into an international brand.
The Angel Sanchez Label has experienced a lot of success as a number of Angel Sanchez pieces are sold at premier department stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus. Additionally, many celebrities can be found wearing Angel Sanchez at red carpet events. Beyonce, Eva Longoria, Sandra Bullock are just a few A-List stars who adore Sanchez’s designs.
Recently, the designer unveiled his newest Fall collection which consisted of a series of gowns in beautiful hues of gold, purple, burgundy, and black. Some of Sanchez’s dresses featured billowing bottoms while other pieces had more form-fitting silhouettes. Chokers, an increasingly popular trend, were also paired with a number of Sanchez’s new pieces. To view the entire collection click here. Below is a peak at a few of his beautiful designs.
